American lamp/holder standard ANSI C81.61 & 81.62 adds G6.6 cap/lamp holder

On February 10, 2017, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) updated the standard ANSI C81.61 and C81.62, adding the G6.6 cap/lamp holder to the new ANSI standard cap/lamp holder.

G6.6 lamp holder/lamp holder is a lamp holder and lamp holder specially designed for LED T-tube, which fundamentally solves the safety problem that LED light source is confused with traditional light source, and will become the safety guarantee of LED lighting. The LED tube of G6.6 lamp holder/lamp holder has one end of the power supply end and the other end only for physical support, just like the current principle of TYPE B single-ended power supply LED tube. G6.6 lamp holder/lamp holders are equipped with three pins L, N, G. If the metal housing of the new G6.6 standard lamp holder is used, it is not necessary to use double-insulated electrical structure. Directly use "lamp grounding + basic insulation" "Meet the standard requirements."

See the G6.6 base structure diagram in ANSI C 81.61 below, and the G6.6 base block diagram in ANSI C 81.62:

G6.6 lamp / lamp holder advantages.

1. It is completely incompatible with the lamp head size of the traditional light source. It is assembled with a sleeve type buckle, and the Pin pin is not easily touched.

2. Can withstand a larger tube weight, currently defined in the ANSI recommendations for a maximum of 1000g.

Lamp holder manufacturer

G6.6 lamp holder, the evaluation standard is UL 8754 (Solid-state Lighting Bases, Holders and Connectors for LED engines and modules) is applied for the North American finished lamp holder Listed certification.

2. LED tube manufacturer

Listed LED tubes with G6.6 caps, the evaluation standard is UL1993 (Self-Ballasted Lamps and Lamp Adapters) applied for Listed certification of North American finished light sources.

3. Refurbishment kit (RETROFIT) manufacturer

Retrofit kit with G6.6 lamp holder, the evaluation standard is UL 1598C (Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Retrofit Luminaire Conversion Kits), and the North American Refurbished Kit is classified.

4. Lamp manufacturer

The type of lamp holder used in the UL1598 luminaire has been added. The luminaire manufacturer can apply the GCE new lamp holder to the finished luminaire for North American certification.

Technical experts recommend:

The traditional LED Type B lamp, which was previously only available as a retrofit kit Retrofit Kit (UL1598C+UL1993, Classified grading certification) for export to the North American market, now has an additional certification scheme that can be used directly as a whole with the G6.6 new ANSI standard lamp holder. LED light source (UL1993, Listed finished product certification) entered the North American market!
