There are many different communication methods between S7-200 and WINCC:
(1) PC/PPI cable + PCACCESS, connected via OPC channel;
(2) CP5611/CP5512 card + PCACCESS, connected by OPC channel;
(3) NETLINK (Germany Hirsch Communication Cable) + PCACCESS, connected via OPC channel;
(4) CP243-1+ Ethernet card + PCACCESS, connected via OPC channel;
(5) EM241 + modem + PCACCESS, connected via OPC channel;
(6) EM277 as slave station + SIMATICNET, connected via OPC channel;
(7) EM277 as a slave + WINAC, connected through the MPI channel;
(8) Write the free port protocol (VB, C++, DELPHI, etc.) of the CPU22X, and connect through the OPC channel;
(9) PC/MPI cable (USB interface) + PCACCESS, connected via OPC channel;
(10) If there is a Siemens touch screen with Ethernet interface, WINCC can obtain data from plc through the touch screen Ethernet port;
(11) If the S7-200 is a substation of the S7-300/400 (regardless of the kind of protocol), WINCC can easily obtain data from the PLC;
(12) Get communication with s7-200 in high-level language in excel/access, WINCC obtains data through DDE.
