The meeting agreed to establish an ISGAN cooperation framework as an implementation agreement of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and agreed that Korea is the first secretary country of ISGAN. The International Senior Grid Action Network (ISGAN) Senior Officials Meeting was held on November 8-9, 2010 in Jeju Island, South Korea. Officials from 11 countries (organizations) including China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and the International Energy Agency (IEA) attended a two-day roundtable meeting under the auspices of Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Energy Rick Duke and Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy. Co-chaired by Director Lee Kwan Suop, Division of Industrial Policy. The conference is one of the five joint actions identified by the 22-nation Clean Energy (Science and Technology) Ministerial Conference held in Washington, United States in July this year. The conference will discuss smart grid benefits and analysis, smart grid project checklists, smart grid information sharing, and smart grids. Case studies and other four topics were discussed and it was agreed that a working group composed of relevant participating countries should draft a framework report on the above topics in order to submit the framework report to the second clean energy source scheduled for April in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates ( Science and Technology) Council of Ministers deliberation.
