STWBC-EP: Flexible 15W Wireless Battery Charger Transmitter for Smartphones, Tablets and Portable Devices

As wireless charging devices become more popular, there is an increasing demand for more powerful wireless charging, especially for portable devices where battery charging time is critical to end user satisfaction.

STWBC-EP complements the STWBC series of wireless battery charger digital transmitter controllers, not only fully compatible with the new Qi® 1.2.3 standard, but also increases transmit power to 15W.

STWBC-EP enables all the necessary functions required to transmit power to the Qi® Extended Power Profile: in addition to effective receiver detection and power control, extended foreign object detection (FOD) is supported by two-way communication with the receiver.

STWBC-EP provides a plug-and-play firmware that helps customers easily integrate into the finished product.

There is also a comprehensive documentation and GUI to support the design. A 15W evaluation board is now available, including a Qi® MPA certified reference design.
