Xiamen is an important gathering place for the photovoltaic industry in Fujian Province. The reporter found yesterday that the fall of the giants caused a great shock to Xiamen PV companies. However, although the days of Xiamen's photovoltaic industry have also been more difficult, there has been no exit from the company.

Xiamen photovoltaic industry is still struggling to support "We and Suntech are taking different paths, not the same level of competition." Ma Chengbai, secretary general of the Xiamen Optoelectronics Industry Association, told reporters that from the beginning, the Xiamen PV industry has consciously differentiated. In terms of operations, there are significant differences in the positioning of enterprises, major products, and development models.

"Although Xiamen PV companies are still struggling, they are still struggling. As far as I know, there is no news that Xiamen has to withdraw." Ma Chengbai said.

Ma Chengbai also said frankly that, after a short period of scenery, the domestic photovoltaic industry has fallen into a state of overcapacity in the past two years. In particular, last year, the United States and the European Union raised the stick of “double opposition” one after another. The domestic photovoltaic companies are still struggling. The export of the Xiamen photovoltaic industry has also been hit hard.

“However, the photovoltaic industry is not as bad as people think.” Ma Chengbai said that as early as before Suntech's accident, companies began to make corresponding adjustments. In addition to developing new markets for exports, there are also sufficient efforts in domestic demand. For example, some Xiamen companies are focused on the combination of photovoltaic technology and LED, and some companies are specializing in the development of rural markets.

According to Ma Chengbai, after the Spring Festival this year, many companies in China have already started to build up their capacity for recovery.

"The Suntech event may have positive implications for the photovoltaic industry's positive development." Ma Chengbai believes that with such a painful lesson, the government will plan more rationally, and corporate investment will become even more cautious.
