The project has introduced more than 380 sets of high-end chip manufacturing equipment from Europe, America, Japan and Taiwan. After the commissioning of 11 MOVCD production lines, the company will rapidly expand the equipment and reach 16 MOVCD production lines by the end of the year; another US$300 million will be invested next year. At the end of the year, the MOVCD production line was expanded to 44 units. In the future, it is expected to produce 574,400 pieces of 2-inch high-brightness blue LED epitaxial wafers, which will eventually produce 15.5 billion blue LED cores with a luminous efficiency of 100-120 lm/W.
Powerchip Group is one of the world's four largest DRAM memory manufacturers. In April 2010, it established Jingwang Optoelectronics (Xuzhou) Co., Ltd. in Xuzhou, and started construction in October of that year. The main raw materials for the LED chip project are from the sapphire substrate produced by Xuzhou GCL Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., which will further improve the Xuzhou photovoltaic and optoelectronic industry chain and enlarge and strengthen the new energy industry. 
The Jingwang Optoelectronics LED project invested and built by Taiwan Powerchip Group is currently progressing smoothly. It is expected that equipment will be installed in April. In June, 11 MOVCD production lines with an annual output of 50,000 2-inch Blu-ray chips will be put into production. The next step will be to expand capacity, and will eventually build 106 2-inch, 54-chip MOVCD LED production lines in Xuzhou.
