When installing a single DIN or dual DIN mainframe, there are many mounting kits, wire connectors or antenna adapters on the market, which are generally very simple. As long as the appropriate host is selected according to the actual situation of the car dashboard, the host can be easily installed, but some of the selected hosts do not match the original car due to personal preference or other reasons, which will bring a larger installation. difficult.

1. The mainframe of the post-market does not match the mainframe of the original car. The installed kit is completely unsuitable. The instrument panel must be designed.

This situation is a modification of many more enthusiastic car audio enthusiasts. At this time, the refitting person must use ABS plastic or acrylic sheet for processing, molding, and the final appearance to be handled in good harmony with other designs on the instrument panel.

2, the host to be installed by the customer is ISO-DIN, which requires the original car's installation kit, and the original car's installation location is not based on the ISO-DIN appearance, the kit does not.

Such situations usually require the purchase of a mounting kit in the aftermarket, or processing with a suitable material to form a suitable mounting kit, such as bending with some iron or aluminum sheets, and then bonding the additional plastic frames together, The panels of the main unit are fixed together on the instrument console.

3. The wiring connector kit of the wire has been cut off (may be cut after the previous installation or after being stolen)

This is not a problem that can be solved with a multimeter. Since the entire wiring kit is cut, it is possible to distinguish the use between the cables. In the inspection, we first judge the color of the car harness according to Chapter 5, but finally use a multimeter to measure.

A. Set the multimeter to DC voltage DC, first measure +12V live line, +12V ACC line. Note that the negative electrode should be well grounded.

B. Set the multimeter in the ohms to detect the cable connecting the speakers. The reading of the watch should be 2-16 ohms. To check the positive and negative poles of the horn, we usually use a polarity tester when the speaker is working normally, but in this case, we can only measure with a large 1.5V battery when connected to the battery. The horn of the horn will have a phenomenon of protrusion or contraction. Generally, when the cone is protruding, the speaker line connected to the positive pole of the battery is the positive pole.

When connecting the cables of the main unit to these wires, be careful that the connections are secure. For example, the copper wire should be fixed with solder, and the outer layer should be wrapped with good quality electrical tape.

4. The plug-in for the original car's wiring kit is still missing, but other matching kits are missing.

This should be the same as the detection method described in 3, first check the effect of each line. It should be noted here that it is best not to cut off the plug of the wiring kit when connecting a new host, but still keep it for the next time.

5. The original host is part of the integration of other electronic components of the instrument panel. Removing it will make these functions of the car not display or operate, such as the host is part of HVAC control, with car navigation system or other integrated car information. Display platform, etc.

The original host should be retained or replaced with other matching components. No matter how the modification is made, it should be noted that the original operation function should be left as it is, such as when the car power is turned off or the key is not in the power supply position, the original function should be able to be used.

The installation of the mainframe has a very simple installation method and a very complicated modification scheme from the current market. A successful host modification should take into account the compatibility of the modified mainframe with the original car, and consider whether all the modified accessories are complete. When a host is reinstalled, the functions of the host should be debugged and taught to the owner.
