TDK Corporation has expanded its MKK power capacitor product line from EPCOS and introduced the new MKK DCi-R series. The MKK DCi-R series is based on resin impregnation technology and is based on the proven technology of MKK DC series gas impregnated capacitors and MKK DC-I series oil-immersed capacitors. The new B25640* capacitors have a nominal capacitance of 10,000 μF and an operating voltage of up to 4000 V DC, while their energy density is 10% higher than that of gas-impregnated capacitors. The flat winding technology ensures that the new capacitors have a volumetric fill factor of up to 95%, further reducing the size of the product and making it compact. In addition, EPCOS' new power capacitors are designed to withstand high voltages and current peaks while providing high current performance. Finally, the excellent internal structure of the MKK DC-I series capacitors also provides good thermal performance, ensuring that heat from internal hot spots is discharged through the capacitor housing.

The latest MKK DCi-R capacitors from EPCOS have excellent reliability and a service life of up to 40 years with FIT values ​​below 100, ESR values ​​as low as 0.1 m? and ESL values ​​as low as 20 nH. The new capacitors are self-healing and are used in applications such as large traction converters and HVDC systems.
