The TDK Group has introduced a new EPCOS axial leaded aluminum electrolytic capacitor for the automotive electronics market. The assembly has a very high ripple current load and vibration resistance. Due to the extremely low ESR and further reduced internal thermal resistance, the self-heating of the new B41689* series is significantly reduced, resulting in a 50% increase in ripple current load compared to standard axial leaded capacitors . In this way, fewer parallel capacitors are needed to meet the highest demands, which not only reduces costs but also increases reliability. This series of axial leaded capacitors can achieve the same ripple current load as a single-ended capacitor while being 60% smaller than it.

These new capacitors are designed for a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and offer an effective life of 10,000 hours at 125°C. Available in 25V DC, 40V DC and 63V DC, capacitance range from 270μF Up to 4500 μF.

Its optimized mechanical design allows it to withstand vibrations up to 40g. All types of capacitors in the new series are available in a variety of mechanical designs, such as solder star or axial leaded double panel capacitors.

These rugged, reliable capacitors can be used in engine management, fuel injection systems, transmission controllers, power steering systems, and applications such as fans, wipers or oil pumps and pump controls. A RoHS-certified version is available for all types.
