A new generation of next-generation laser radar technology: MEMS laser radar RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre. As early as October 2017, Sagitar gathered the team's latest developments in the MEMS and OPA technology routes, and promised to bring the demo to the CES in January 2018 for a global public real-time demonstration. The MEMS laser radar product called RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre is now available. Its MEMS technology solution replaces the traditional mechanical rotation method, which makes the machine more compact and can be perfectly embedded in any car body. The products have many advantages such as low cost, easy mass production, and car gauge level. Long distance The RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre has a detection range of more than 200 meters. It is understood that this is the LiDAR of the farthest detection range in the MEMS laser radar that has been released worldwide. This detection distance helps the self-driving vehicle to find obstacles a few seconds earlier. 2. High resolution The angular resolution of the RS-LiDAR-M1Pre is 0.09° x 0.2°. It is understood that this is also the smallest angular resolution known in the world for MEMS laser radars. It gives the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre insights a detection capability. For a 1.70-meter-high person 50 meters away, the 16-beam conventional lidar detects a line and the 64-beam detects 5 lines. With the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre, 10 lines can be detected. 3. Low cost Compared to mechanical multi-line laser radar, the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre uses the MEMS micro-galvanometer scheme for area scanning, greatly reducing the use of transmitters and receivers. The unique design reduces the number of parts of the RS-LiDAR-M1pre to the utmost extent, and the corresponding component costs are also greatly reduced. 4. Easy mass production Thanks to the scientific internal structure design, the mass production capacity of the products has been greatly improved. The simple internal design eliminates the need for multiple adjustments to each transmitter and receiver during production. The product can be molded at one time, mass production capacity, especially in the industry, the uncontrollable yield rate has been revolutionized. Supported by the double decline in raw material costs and manufacturing costs, RS-LiDAR-M1pre achieves and exceeds the same scanning effect of high-beam mechanical laser radar. The overall cost is bound to range from tens of thousands of dollars to thousands of yuan. The "numerical/currency" cliff-type plunge, laser radar is no longer a cost barrier for automatic driving. 5. Car level According to reports, RS-LiDAR-M1pre has been designed from the beginning, and has been adhering to the principle of “entering mass production vehiclesâ€. Therefore, the verification of all components is designed in accordance with the quality system of the vehicle standard. Sagitar said that they have great confidence that the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre can pass the rigorous track level test through continuous verification at a later stage. Long-distance, high-resolution, low-cost, high-volume production, quality and stability at the track level – the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre is destined to be an autonomous, mass-produced model that is expected to be fast-production. The radar sensor that is eagerly awaited. It is worth mentioning that this CES, some of the world's leading MEMS solution laser radar manufacturers also exhibited the corresponding products. However, in terms of various data, Sagitar is still dominant. The RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre is very likely to deliver prototypes to the depot in the first quarter of 2018. Whether the RS-LiDAR-M1 Pre can end the recognition of "the laser radar is too expensive, only for the test car", and promote the "automatic driving of the old Wang Xietang Qianyan" to "fly into the home of ordinary people", we will wait and see.
